Ephesians 1:1-4

Ephesians 1:1–4 introduces us to the incredible identity and blessings of those who belong to Christ. Paul identifies himself as an apostle called by the will of God and addresses believers as saints who are faithful in Christ Jesus, reminding us that our identity is not found in our circumstances, accomplishments, or failures, but in Christ. He then points us to the source of our salvation—God’s grace and peace—and calls us to bless God because He has already blessed us with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. Even more astonishing, God chose His people in Christ before the foundation of the world, with the purpose that they would be holy and blameless before Him. These verses remind us that our relationship with God begins not with what we have done for Him, but with what He has graciously done for us in Christ.
